There’s a lot to learn when you want to become a barista – learning the difference between all the types of drinks, how to steam milk properly, extracting the perfect shot of espresso, not to mention the intricate skill of latte art! At first this might seem like a pretty big task, just like learning any new skillset is, but there’s a simple way to begin your journey towards becoming a barista. Partaking in an entry-level barista course will give you the basic understanding and knowledge of coffeemaking and the hospitality industry to allow you to begin working in a café.
Barista courses are an amazing option to begin to learn how to make coffee and correctly use equipment. Every barista course you come across will probably be a little bit different in terms of length and how things are taught, but they will all give you a solid base understanding of coffeemaking.
Here at Tactile Learning, we offer a two-day Barista Short Course to prepare people like you to become baristas. In this course we cover all of the basics, both on the theoretical and practical side of things. Of course, you’re not going to pick everything up immediately – especially things like latte art, which might be something to work towards later down the track. However, completing an accredited course such as ours prepares you for an entry level barista job, where you can continue to hone your skills and perfect the art.
